|ROBERT AND BRITA NORTHCUTT AWARD|
The Robert and Brita Northcutt Scholarship was founded by Robert and Brita Northcutt. Chair of the Department for 10 years, Dr. Northcutt was a member of the Mathematics faculty for 42 years, retiring in 2006 as Distinguished Professor Emeritus. His wife Brita is active in the San Marcos community where they both reside.
- Students may reapply as long as they are still attending Texas State and have a GPA of 3.0.
|LYNN TULLOCH MATH SCHOLARSHIP|
The Lynn H. Tulloch Math Scholarship was created to commemorate Dr. Tulloch, a former faculty member who received his B.A. from Baylor University, his M.A. from Brown University, and his Ph.D. from the University of Texas. Dr. Tulloch retired from then Southwest Texas State University in the late 1970s. During his time with various universities he was awarded the National Science Foundation Faculty Fellowship and was listed as one of the American Men of Science.
- Student must be pursuing teaching certification with a major in mathematics
- Preference given to athletes
- Scholarship can be renewed
|WAYMENT ENDOWED SCHOLARSHIP|
The Ross and Sarah Wayment Endowed Fund for Mathematics and Mathematics Education was inaugurated in 1987 by Dr. Stanley G. Wayment in honor of his parents, Ross and Sarah Wayment. Dr. Wayment was a Professor and Chair of the Department of Mathematics at Texas State University for 25 years. The fund is used to support activities of students, faculty, and teaching alumni who are engaged in the study, research, training, and teaching of mathematics. The scholarships are renewable for up to four years provided the required conditions are met. Preference will be given to students who have not received other scholarship or grant awards (of
$1,000 or more per long semester) by mid-April.
